Things to Know

Though it is a popular travel destination in the summer but this time weather can be hot and humid. So, as a traveler it is better to make a move to Washington in October or April.
Regan National Airport serves as the nearest airport to the city and is accessible by Metro. You can hop on a blue or yellow line train to reach D.C. Cap is another option to reach here.

Once you step in the destination, try to know the grid as the city is systematized in a grid pattern. It is followed by lettered streets moving east-west and numbered streets moving north-south. You will also come across Diagonal streets that are generally named after states impede the grid and converge at circles. The city also encompasses four quadrants named as NE, NW, SE and SW.
